Hi. I'm Ashley. Why do I do what I do?

It was several years ago, I was working as a graphic designer when photography grabbed my attention and changed my path. I remember the exact moment and photo, posted online from the other side of the world. It gave me the wonderful feeling of being transported back to summer days, sipping from frosty glass bottles with sun warming my skin. I wanted to do that. 

So I picked up some big old film cameras and that was that. The depth and soul I found in film allowed me to capture memories and tell stories like I never imagined.

I wanted people to look at an image and remember what they were thinking in that captured moment. Or maybe the smell of rain from that one day in June, feel the brush of fur friends on fingertips or remember a glance and faraway laugh. That's what I still want and what I love doing best.

These days I shoot both digital and film, which I enjoy equally for different reasons. Taking photos has sent me across the world and back, and the photographer who took that first photo is now one of my dearest friends.

It amazes me that I get to spend intimate patches of time with beautiful souls. And my favourite part of a photo shoot? Is showing what I've captured to my clients. The smiles, tears and happy-all-caps emails have me grinning every time, because that's when I know I've done it. Transported them to a moment they get to keep forever.
