The best kind of chocolate

There was one last pack of Polaroid Chocolate film stashed in the back of my fridge. It was very expired, I wasn't even sure if it would work out. But that always makes for nice surprises.

Macadamias and mist

The weather was surprisingly awful last week. Rainy, windy and cold. You wouldn't guess it if you looked out a window today though, nothing but blue sky and sunshine. I even managed to soak up a little bit between work and more work while revisiting Friday in my mind. Friday was cool, drizzly and spent adventuring in the mountains.

We spent part of it it wandering through a macadamia forest with crunchy leaves under our feet and no other sounds besides laughing birds and wind in the tree tops. For a while it was all ours.

Later that day we found ourselves deep in the rainforest, covered in mist and protected from rain by the canopy above our heads. The smell of earth and rain was amazing. Delicate little spider webs were scattered along our trail, covered in raindrops they looked more like strands of diamonds. Somehow I forgot my camera for that part, and if only we had remembered our swimming gear... the rock pool at the end of the trail was kind of perfect. Next time for sure.
